Abstract

Pedestrians are an important form of transportation in urban areas. These pedestrians are in a weak position when mixed with vehicles, especially for pedestrians crossing the road or walking on the side of the road, indirectly this activity will lead to sharp conflicts in traffic, namely the occurrence of traffic delays and even traffic accidents. There are many factors that affect traffic accidents for pedestrians, such as: relating to roads, drivers, pedestrians, the environment and vehicles, all of which greatly affect the occurrence of traffic accidents. In this study, three research variables will be analyzed, namely pedestrian behavior, vehicle speed and pedestrian facilities as independent variables that affect the dependent variable, namely pedestrian accidents. The formulation of the problem, the research objective and the hypothesis in this study were to analyze the effect of the independent variables, namely pedestrian behavior, vehicle speed and pedestrian facilities on the dependent variable, namely pedestrian accidents. In this research, the object taken is the user of the Slamet Riyadi road in Solo City. Sources of data include primary and secondary data. The sample in this study were 100 respondents who were pedestrians on the Slamer Riyadi road, Solo City. The data analysis technique is multiple linear regression techniques. Y = 0,860 + 0,388X1 + 0,243X2 + 0,287X3 + µ The results of multiple regression research show that there is a partially positive effect of pedestrian behavior on pedestrian accidents (tcount 3,466 > ttable 1,98472), vehicle speed on pedestrian accidents (tcount2,456 > ttable 1,98472) and pedestrian facilities on accidents. pedestrians (tcount 3,478 > ttable 1,98472). From the regression equation, it can be seen that the most dominant variable that affects pedestrian accidents is pedestrian behavior with a regression coefficient of 0.338 and the value of the coefficient of determination (Adjusted R Square = 0.489) means 48.9% while the rest (100% - 48.9%) = 51.1%) influenced by other variables outside the research or outside the regression equation model. Keywords: pedestrian behavior, vehicle speed, pedestrian facilities and pedestrian accidents
