Abstract

Indonesia is the largest maritime country in the world, 2/3 of Indonesia's territory is a sea area. Ships that will leave or enter the port waters must use a guide service. This study aims to determine the effect of Ship Operations, Tariff, and Water Safety partially and simultaneously on Guiding at PT Pelabuhan Indonesia I (Persero) Batam Branch. The population in this study was taken from all service users who used pandu and delay services at PT Pelabuhan Indonesia I (Persero) Batam Branch and the sample used in this study were 100 respondents. The sampling technique used was a census sampling technique. The analytical method used in this research is descriptive analysis and quantitative analysis, then the data is analyzed using multiple linear regression with the help of (software) Statistic Package for Social Science (SPSS). The results of the hypothesis test show that the variables of Ship Operations, Tariffs, and Water Safety have partial and simultaneous effects on Guiding at PT Pelabuhan Indonesia I (Persero) Batam Branch. The results of multiple linear regression analysis obtained Y = 3.092 + 0.433X1 + 0.199X2 + 0.194X3 + µ. From this equation, it is known that the variable that has the most dominant influence on Guidance is the Ship Operational variable with a regression coefficient of 0.433. The R2 (R square) test results in 0.525 or 52.5%, which means that the Guidance at PT Pelabuhan Indonesia I (Persero) Batam Branch is influenced by Ship Operations, Tariff, and Water Safety variables, namely 52.5% and other factors affect the Guidance at PT Pelabuhan Indonesia I (Persero) Batam Branch amounting to 47.5%. Keywords: Ship Operations, Tariff, Water Safety, and Guidance.
