Abstract
In order for loading and unloading of cement in ports to be on time according to the schedule, so loading and unloading equipment is one of the important factors so that the loading and unloading process runs smoothly. What needs to be considered so that the performance of ship loading and unloading equipment is ready and in optimal condition to carry out loading is by avoiding and minimizing the factors that cause the unloading performance to be not optimal. Based on experience during the sea practice, MV. BJS 1 had many problems with loading and unloading equipment, which caused problems on loading and unloading activities. Several problems were faced, namely: What were the factors that caused the maintenance of cement loading and unloading equipment in the MV. BJS 1 not optimal, what is the result of the maintenance of cement loading and unloading equipment in the MV. BJS 1 if the maintenance is not optimal and how can the cement loading and unloading equipment work optimally. The method used in this study is a qualitative method that produces descriptive data in the form of writing of the object under study, in this case collecting data in the form of an approach to the object through interviews with experienced sources, through data relating to the cement loading and unloading process in MV. BJS 1. The author will identify the cause of this by analyzing the cause of the damage to the loading and unloading equipment and including the correct unloading procedure. After the cause of the obstruction in the causes of the process of loading and unloading had been identified, then a study can then be carried out to look for things that cause the loading and unloading to be hampered. By conducting this research, each ship crew will be more consistent in carrying out maintenance of the cement ship loading and unloading equipment and knowing things that cannot be tolerated, can properly following the loading and unloading procedures so that the loading and unloading process runs smoothly. Supervision of loading and unloading process and maintenance of loading and unloading equipment are intended to optimize the loading and unloading process.
