Abstract

Transportation is one of the important aspects in human life because transportation contributes greatly to life in relation to daily human activities. To support these various activities, transportation plays its role to support the need to move from one place to another. In the business world there have been many companies engaged in services, especially in the field of rail transportation. The development of railroad transportation is marked by the increasing number of train passengers in several locations that are even close to one another, so customers are faced with a large number of choices. This study aims to determine the comfort, price, and service quality partially on the passenger satisfaction of the Tawang Jaya train. The population in this study were users of Tawang Jaya railroad transportation services with this sample of 100 respondents. The sampling technique used is non propability sampling with the type of sampling that is incidental sampling. The analytical method used is descriptive analysis and quantitative analysis, data were analyzed using linear regression analysis with the help of (Software) Statistical Package For Social Science (SSPS). The results of this study indicate that the variable comfort, price, and service quality have a partial effect on passenger satisfaction. The results of multiple linear regression analysis obtained by the equation Y = 0.597 + 0.341X1 + 0.333X2 + 0.153X3 + µ. The multiple linear regression equation shows that there is a positive and significant influence between comfort on passenger satisfaction (tcount 3,803> t table1,98472), price on passenger satisfaction (t count 2,281> t table 1,98472), service quality on passenger satisfaction (t count 1,782> t table 1, 98472), individually. From the regression equation it can be seen that the most dominant variable influencing passenger satisfaction is the comfort variable with a regression coefficient of 0.341. With the R2 (R Square) test the results obtained are 0.564 or 56.4% which means that passenger satisfaction is influenced by comfort, price, service quality variables that is equal to 56.4% and other factors that affect passenger satisfaction are 43.6%.
