Abstract
Windlass is a system of anchor cranes mounted on a ship for the purpose of lifting and lowering anchors and anchor chains through hawse pipe anchor tubes. The main use of the windlass is as a connector or puller of chains and anchors. Windlass has the ability to lift anchors from 30-60 meters deep (Soejanto, 1991). Based on the background that has been stated, the problem in this observation can be identified to be a focus of the problem in cases one by one which is very closely related to one another so that the formulation of the problem or problem of operation in the windlass is the decrease in hydraulic oil pressure, maintenance of windlass shafts and damage to pipe installations.
