Abstract
The purpose of writing this scientific paper is to find out the role of ship cargo expeditions (EMKL) in conducting garment import activities, as well as any factors that become supporters and inhibitors of the shipping process from warehouse shipper to consignee warehouse. The method used in writing this scientific paper is observation, interview and literature study. In this study data collection on objects is done through observation, interviews and literature studies to strengthen existing data. The results of this Final Project's objective are to discuss the Ship Cargo Expedition (EMKL) in the process of discussing important goods and obstacles in the experience of Ship Cargo Expeditions in the implementation of imports. The method used is the method of observation using special objects for a complete analysis of the importance of importing goods. As for collecting data used is an interview that is by collecting questions and answers directly with subjects related to the object of research with the problem in question, that is by looking for materials available with the problem in detail. The results of this internship can be concluded that the Ship Cargo Expedition (EMKL) has two roles, the first is as a Forwarder or consolidated, his job is responsible for shipping at shipping agents. While the second role is as a representative of importers where the Sea Cargo Expedition (EMKL) can act as the owner of important goods and is fully responsible for imported goods, including taking care of import documents. The conclusion of this research is to know the role of ocean freight cargo expeditions in carrying out import activities at PT. Konesia Prologix Line Semarang Branch.
