Abstract

Waiting time for ships is one of the problems that always gets serious attention in every country, especially regarding sea transportation. Sea transportation is a gateway for meeting areas far from the center of activity, especially in supporting economic activities. With the port, the economic activities can be more smooth, most of the imported export goods are sent by sea because the number of goods that can be transported by ships is more than the amount of goods that can be transported by other fleets. If port performance is less than optimal, it will have a direct impact on services, which will lead to new problems, namely the higher ship waiting time, which will result in high costs, which will directly affect the prices of goods on the market. This study aims to determine the factors that affect loading and unloading productivity, document services and the availability of docks on Ship Waiting Times (Study at Terminal PT. Pelabuhan Indonesia III Persero Tanjung Perak Surabaya Branch). This research was conducted at Mirah Terminal as a sample. Data collection is done through the method of observation, literature study, interview, documentation and questionnaires. The analysis technique used is multiple linear regression with the help of SPSS V.25 program. Based on the results of research and multiple analyzes generated equations: Y = 17,142 - 0,254X1 -0,134 X2 -0,169 X3 +  Based on empirical facts (the results of filling out the questionnaire) and the results of multiple linear regression equations show that the Loading and Unloading Productivity variable (X1) has (tcount -4,530> ttable 1,993), document service variables (X2) (ttest -3,047> ttable 1,994), and variable Pier availability (t -4.070> t table 1.994). As for the value of Adjusted R2 = 0.536. This means that 53.60% of the dependent variable variation (Y), which is the waiting time of the ship can be explained or caused by the independent variables namely Loading and Unloading Productivity (X1), Document Services (X2), and Pier Availability (X3). While the remaining 100% - 53.60% = 46.4%, explained by other causes outside the studied variables. Thus the results of the study show that loading and unloading productivity, document services and pier availability have a positive and significant effect on ship waiting time at the Port of Tanjung Perak, Surabaya.
