Abstract

The general public uses motorcycles as a mode of transportation because of easy access and affordable prices, but motorcycles are also the biggest threat of accidents and as the highest contributor of accident victims in Indonesia. The high number of motorcycle accidents shows that the level of safety riding awareness is still very low. Safety Riding is an effort made in minimizing the level of danger and maximizing safety riding in order to create safe and secure conditions. This study aims to determine the effect of vehicle conditions, rider concentration, and road conditions on safety riding in motorcycle users on Jenderal Sudirman Street, Magelang City. Data collection was carried out using a research instrument in the form of a questionnaire. The sample in this study were 100 motorcycle user respondents at Jenderal Sudirman Street, Magelang City. The method of analysis uses multiple linear regression analysis. The formulation of regression in this study is as follows: Y = 1,497 + 0,230X1 + 0,260X2 + 0,334X3 + µ The results of multiple linear regression research indicate that there is a partially positive effect on vehicle condition on safety riding (tcount 2.858> t table 1.98472), rider concentration on safety riding (tcount 3.958> t table 1.98472) and road conditions on safety riding (tcount 4.140> t table 1.98472) ). The influence of the three research variables is very strong with the correlation coefficient of determination (Adjusted R2) = 0,553 which means that the vehicle condition (X1), rider concentration (X2), and road conditions (X3) have an effect of 55.3% on safety riding (Y) and 44.7% (100% - 55,3%) are influenced by variables outside this study. Keywords: vehicle condition, rider concentration, road conditions, and safety riding
