Abstract

The safety of passengers on motorboats is influenced by several factors, including the role of the skipper, the condition of the ship building and safety equipment. Of the three, have an important role in maintaining Passenger Safety with satisfactory results. The purpose of this study is to determine whether there is an influence of the role of the skipper, the condition of the ship building and safety equipment on the safety accuracy of boat passengers in Puruk Cahu City. In this study, the population of the study was the safety of passengers on a motorboat at the Tira Tangka Balang River Harbor in Puruk Cahu City with a sampling system of 70 respondents (sample). The variables in the study consisted of: the independent variable of the role of the skipper (X.1), the condition of the ship building (X.2), and safety equipment (X.3) and the dependent variable, namely passenger safety (Y). The data collection method used is the questionnaire method. The results of the analysis with the statistical tools of the SPSS V.25 program obtained multiple linear regression equations Y = -1.753 + 0.291.X1 + 0.256.X2 + 0.247.X3 + µ. The results of multiple linear equations show that there is a positive and significant influence between the Role of Skippers on Passenger Safety (t count 3.442 > t table of 1.99547), Ship Building Conditions on Passenger Safety (t count 2.398> t table of 1.99547), Tools - Safety Equipment for Passenger Safety (t count 2.892> t table of 1.99547), individually the role of the skipper, the condition of the ship building and safety equipment affect the safety of passengers. The influence of the three research variables is very strong with the coefficient value (R Square) obtained by 56.3% on Passenger Safety and 43.7%. influenced by variables that were not detected in this study.
