Abstract
National SAR Agency (Basarnas) is a non-ministerial Indonesian government agency tasked with carrying out governmental tasks in the field of search and rescue (Search and Rescue / SAR). Basarnas has the main task of carrying out guidance, coordination and control of potential SAR in search and rescue activities for people and material that are lost or feared missing or facing danger in shipping and / or flight, and provide assistance in disasters and other disasters in accordance with national and international SAR regulations. This really requires the power and assistance of Semarang City SAR members effectively to provide assistance and search for disaster victims. Each Basarnas member is expected to be able to handle any sudden disasters, therefore a Basarnas member is needed who can be fast and responsive and have good knowledge and skills in accordance with his work in a risky field.The purpose of this study is basically a research objective to determine the Effectiveness of Work in searching and help Victims in the Java Sea by the BASARNAS Semarang City with the method of data collection both observation, interview, and library research that the author collected.From the results of the study, it can be analyzed that the Effectiveness of Work in searching and help Victims in the Java Sea by the BASARNAS Semarang Cityhas not been good. There are several things that must be considered both the rescue procedure with a variety of tools used, as well as the procedures that were carried out so that the process of rescuing the victims was maximally successful.
