Abstract

The ship is a means of sea transportation which is the main alternative because it can carry out shipping in large quantities and small costs with effective and efficient results. In order for this to work well, the skills of the duty officer in the duty service are required with a high sense of responsibility and work ethic. In this case the guard officer must be able to carry out guard services, especially when anchored anchor properly according to the rules set in the ship. The method used by researchers to overcome the problem is a qualitative method, with Urgency, Seriousness, Growth (USG) data analysis methods to determine priority problems when the ship carries out anchor anchor duty services so that you can find solutions to those problems. From the calculation of priority problems, weather factors and maintenance of the anchor tool that most influences the implementation of anchor anchor duty services. The data source from this study came from observations of the implementation of anchor anchor guard services on the ship during sea practice. From the results of the study can be known at the time of implementation. The anchor anchor service factors that cause ships to be washed away and lose their anchors and their chains are weather factors that change rapidly, conditions of officers who are less fit in carrying out guard duty, the application of standing orders that are less than optimal, and the lack of regular maintenance of winch conditions and stopper on the anchor tool and the condition of the anchor and its chains are old or rusty. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that each officer both the officer and the crew should always carry out the duty procedures according to the rules and always be aware of changes in weather around the ship that often changes and must always report to the officer. Anchored devices such as winches and stoppers used at each port must be treated with care and if the anchor or chain is not feasible, request to the office for replacement.
