Abstract
The influence of leadership style and work motivation on employee performance can be influenced by the leadership style adopted and applied by the leadership. That the leader can change their style or behavior to meet the demands of certain situations. Based on the background of the problem on the influence of leadership style and motivation on employee performance, it can be formulated the problem of why employee performance has decreased and what type of leadership style is more dominant in PT. Orela Syipyard. The purpose of this paper is to find out why employee performance has decreased and to determine the character of the leadership style that is more dominant in PT. Orela Shipyard. And the methodology used by the author is the method of observation and the method of interviewing, therefore the authors do prada during the activity at PT. Orela Shipyard. In this paper, it can be concluded that the cause of the decline in employee performance is due to the ineffective leadership style of the authority, as well as the motivation that has been given to employees. Especially in an atmosphere of discussion, the more active discussions between leaders and employees will increase performance, and show that the participatory leadership style has a big influence in improving employee performance.
