Abstract
Personal protective equipment are tools capable of providing protection against the dangers of ship accidents. It could also be called a tool that must be used when working in accordance with work hazards and risks to maintain the safety of the workers it senviron ment around. However, PPE does not eliminate or reduce the danger that exists. This equipment only reduces the amount of contact with danger by placing a barrier between labor and the hazard. In other words, despite using personal protective equipment in an effort to prevent work accidents technically, technologically the foremost. In this paper the author explains how to improve the discipline of crew members. The author used the writing method that is by collecting data which includes the following matters: the observation, the interview, discussion, and the literature. The crew should be able to carry out work safety procedures on the ship properly and correctly in order to reduce the risk of work accidents. Providing knowledge and insight about safety is expected to reduce workplace accidents. So this writing aims to follow the safety procedures in the engine room.
