Abstract
In connection with the increase in the flow of goods to the port area is very large, international shipping companies open new branches in every country that has the opportunity to carry out its business activities to handle non-owned or owned vessels. The purpose of writing this paper is to know the procedures for handling international ship activities as well as the obstacles encountered when managing a ship, especially in the field of communication/interaction. Therefore to bridge the interaction and communication across languages and cultures, the mastery of foreign languages, especially English which is internationally recognized as Lingua Franca.
