Abstract

The role of Marine Inspector of Kantor Kesyahbandaran dan Otoritas Pelabuhan Kelas I Tanjung Emas Semarang to the ship’s seaworthiness The responsibility of a Kantor Kesyahbandaran dan Otoritas Pelabuhan Kelas I Port of Tanjung Emas Semarang is great in ensuring the safety and security of the voyage, because a KSOP is a government official in the port appointed by the Minister of Transportation and has the highest authority to run and supervise the fulfillment of the provisions of seaworthiness of the ship’s before making a voyage. Seaworthiness is a ship condition that meets the requirements of materials, construction, machinery, electrical, stability, arrangement, life saving equipment, radio communication, electron and navigation equipment, which proved by certificate of seaworthiness. In order to improve the safetyness and securityness of the voyage, a KSOP office must have Marine inspectors. Marine inspector is a ship safety inspector officer who has attended and graduated from the education and training of the ship safety inspector officer and has approved by the Director of Sea Transportation. The purpose of this study is to know the role of Marine inspector of Kantor Kesyahbandaran dan Otoritas Pelabuhan Kelas I Tanjung Emas Semarang to the ship’s seaworthiness. The data collection method used is field research methode using observation technique and interview technique, also documentation methode. The result of this study is that the role of Marine inspector of Kantor Kesyahbandaran dan Otoritas Pelabuhan Kelas I Tanjung Emas Semarang to the ship’s seaworthiness is very important in ensuring the seaworthiness and safety of a ship.
