Abstract
Basic Knowledge of Ship Officers During Navigation in Accordance with Safety of Life at Sea SOLAS Regulation 1974/1978 IN KMP. GILI IYANG, By KUPP Class III Bawean Navigating is a part of a sailing ship from one place to another. Knowledge of navigation tools is very important tool to assist an officer of the watch bridge in sailing ships. The method used is the method of interview and descriptive method that describingfile. Interest writer preparing a scientific paper is to ensure navi-gational equipment on board is in compliance with SOLAS 1974 Regulation 1974/1978, Fixing the navigation system in KMP. GILI IYANG to comply with SOLAS Regulation 1974/1978, and also to improve exercise ability officer of the watch in motion. The results or usefulness of this research is to become an input for the company to pay more attention to the condition of the navigation equipment on board, if damaged beyond repair, and if it can not be repaired immediately replaced, because if not fixed soon will interfere with the navigation process. If the company recruiting officers with expertise as well as have good and competent in their field and given familiarization when first boarded the ship. For the officer of the watch bridge To be responsible for the task of his observation and navigation equipment can operate optimally, so that ships can navigate well and arrive at the destination safely.
