Abstract
Prepare Passage Planning before sailing with use ECDIS in Mv. Mara property PT. Tirta Samudera Caraka Nowadays sea transportation is a necessity and become the best alternative in world trade chain. therefore safe and comfortable shipping is needed. Safety of shipping is one of the absolute factors that must be met in order for the ship to operate properly. Disturbance at the time of the sailing boat can be due to factors from nature, but did not close the possibility can be caused also because of human error factor. Any disturbance at the time of the sailing vessel is an emergency because it will endanger lives and ships. What is meant by an emergency is circumstances beyond the normal circumstances that occur on the ship to the detriment of the ship and has a tendency level can endanger the lives of humans, property, and environment in which the ship is located. The purpose of this paper is to know the constraints of ship officers in terms of use of ECDIS at the time of sailing then the influence of ECDIS use on board and how to prepare pessage planning by using ECDIS in ship MV. MARA. Data collection method used is field research using observation and interview techniques and literature study method. With the introduction of this new navigation system, of course, it must be followed by trainings that must be given to the Names and Masters on board. For this reason, the STCW 1978 Manila 2010 Amendment has accommodated the competencies that must be possessed by the Commercial and Commercial Shipping Commissioners as stated in the STCW Chapter II and more detailed competencies are included in the STCW Code Section A-II / 1-4. Therefore, before sailing using ECDIS, the Mualim and the Master are required to carry out 2 types of training, namely Generic Training (according to STCW) and Manufacturer / Factory Training (Specific Training) considering that each ECDIS manufacturer has a different model. That is, if a person already has a certificate from an ECDIS training on land, then the constraints in the use of ECDIS above can be overcome as well as the Mualim and the Master can use ECDIS optimally.
