Abstract
The Role of the F ire Detection Tool in the Prevention of Fire In KM. Labobar Owned by PT. Pelni KM. Labobar is a passenger ship with a capacity of 3245 passengers, of course the ship has a lot of space and also the risk of a very large fire occurring on the ship. Therefore KM. Labobar has 3 fire detection devices, namelyfire detectors, heat detectors and smoke detectors to prevent fire hazards on ships. The role of fire detection devices is very important to detect if there is a fire hazard on the ship and can also provide security and comfort for all passengers and crew. Therefore thispaper was created with the aim of knowing the role offire detection devices in preventing fires in KM. Labobar. The data retrieval method used is a field research method which includes direct observation when on land practice and interviews with the crew, also using literature study methods to obtain relevant information. And the results of this paper are entitled the role of fire detection devices in preventing fires in KM. Labobar owned by PT. PELNI is an important role in preventing fires and always requires regular maintenance and replacement to maintain shipping safety. Keywords : Fire Detection, Prevention, Fire on the ship
