Abstract

PROCEDURES AND MECHANISM FOR THE DISTRESS COMMUNICATION CASIALTIES IN EFFORT TO EXPEDITE THE SEARCH AND HELP OPERATIONS OF VICTIMS OF ACCIDENTS IN THE SEA (WATER RESCUE) BY THE BANDUNG SEARCH AND RESCUE (SAR) Communication system is a system used to carry out conversations indirectly or directly. A group of people, guidelines and media that carry out an activity to process, save, express ideas, opinionalt, symbols, become messages in making decisions to reach an agreement and mutual understanding with each other by processing the message into a source of information. In this case it relates to special search and rescue actives at sea (Water Rescue). Search and rescue is an activity and effort to find, help, and save the lost human lives or fear of being lost or facing danger in disasters such as on board a Ship, on board a Plane, and disasters. The purpose of study to find out about the Procedures and Mechanisms of the distress communication system in an effort to facilitate the search and rescue of Casualties during emergencies, especially on the sea (Water Rescue). The method carried out in this paper is an observation in the Bandung SAR Office. In the rescue procedure, a lot of equipment must be prepared to facilitate the rescue operation. In addition, the skills as well as the techniques mastered by the rescuer are very important provisions for carrying out the rescue. In making a rescue effort, a Rescuer must be able to work in a team and apply the procedures and mechanisms for rescue that had been planned.
