Abstract
Before carrying out the voyage, a passage plan is first made. In passage planning Charting Estimation should be done optimally so that later will be achieved safe, efficient and economical shipping. A navigator must make a passage plan carefully. The completeness of the navigation books available on the ship is needest as a guide / reference for a navigator in making a passage plan, as well as the completeness of the tools for charting estimation. In addition, the availability of navigation equipment also plays an important role in the safety of shipping, among others, set in the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) Convention1974/1978. Therefore with the data collection of this paper using research literature and field research with the method of observation and interview methods. The results of this study are Optimizing The Implementation of The Charting Estimation for Safety of Shipping in MT.Sele / P.3006 Owned by PT.Pertamina (Persero).
