Abstract
In accordance with the provisions of SOLAS Year 1974 amendment 1995 states that every ship must be equipped with safety tools where safety equipment is very important for life saving at sea. Safety tool that distinguishes from the name and usefulness. Given the increasing demand for sea transportation services on ship or passenger ship so that the crew must have the skills to use the safety tools on the ship. about the guidelines relating to the ability of the crew in the skills of the lifeboats operation. All shipping companies around the world are obliged to carry out such procedures because it is essential for seafarers' skills that can affect their performance when they do the work. The purpose of this paper is to know the safe and efficient operation of lifeboats in the MV. SPB. SAINTY GENERAL is in accordance with the provisions of SOLAS Year 1974 amendment 1995. Taking data of this paper using research literature and field research with the method of observation and interview method. The result of this paper is improving the operation of lifeboats.
