Abstract
The Role of Maritime Meteorology Station of Tanjung Mas Semarang in Transmitting Weather and Wave Information to Coastal Radio Weather is the state of air at any given moment in a particular area that is relatively narrow and on a short period of time. Weather is very influential in the smoothness of the voyage. Other than the human error factor, weather conditions could cause the occurrence of a cruise accident. The role of Meteorology Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) in sending weather information becomes very important for shipping activities. In the smoothness of transmitting weather and wave information and data processing, Maritime Meteorology Station of Tanjung Mas Semarang using observation method based on the data obtained through meteorological equipment and satellite imaging. The purpose of this study is to know the role of Maritime Meteorology Station of Tanjung Mas Semarang in Transmitting Weather and Wave Information to Coastal Radio. Data collection methods used were field research and literature study used observation and interview techniques. The result of this study that the role of Maritime Meteorology Station of Tanjung Mas Semarang in Transmitting Weather and Wave Information to Coastal Radio is very important in sending weather information so as to facilitate the shipping activities and minimize the accidents due to bad weather.
