Abstract

Anchor Watch Optimization in accordance with the 2010 Amendment Standard of Training Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW) Rules. Gerbang Samudra Sarana 1 Every sailor is required to have a Ship Safety Management certificate given by the Directorate General of Sea Transportation to companies and vessels that have fulfilled safety management requirements and prevention of pollution from ships after an external audit by competent Government officials or institutions granted authority by the Government . The Ship Safety Management Certificate consists of a document of Compliance (DOC) for the company and a Safety Management Certificate (SMC) for ships. In accordance with the requirements of the ISM Code, the aim is for companies that own or operate vessels in accordance with the above scheduling, must establish a Safety Management System for the company and its vessels in order to ensure the safe operation of the vessel. The method is determined so that these requirements include documenting, implementing and maintaining a safety management system that will eventually be verified by the Government or a recognized organization in order to issue certificates after all ISM Code requirements have been fulfilled. Companies that meet the requirements will be issued a Document of Compliance (DOC) and the results optimized for ships that have met the requirements will be issued a Safety Management Certificate (SMC). Both DOC and SMC have a validity period of 5 years. Conclusion if the company and its ship that cannot meet the requirements of the ISM Code will face difficulties in its operations, both in international and domestic waters.
