Abstract
Efforts to Implement Safety Management System (SMS) in Implementing Safety of Life At Sea (SOLAS) 1974 on board KM. DHARMA KENCANA PT. DHARMA LAUTAN UTAMA Safety management system is a part of an organization or company that is integrated in its duty to identify, review, implement, control, evaluate and maintain occupational safety and health programs to control accident risk in order to create an efficient, safe and productive work environment. Purpose of writing work This writing is to find out the importance of the efforts to implement the safety management system (SMS) in implementing 1974 Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) in KM.Dharma Kencana, PT. The main ocean dharma. The method used in writing this paper is the library method and direct observation method which includes the direct review method, interview method, and problem method. The results of this paper that attempt to implement the safety management system (SMS) in implementing safety of life at sea ( SOLAS) 1974 in KM. Dharma Kencana owned by PT. The main ocean Dharma has been carried out by means of the Safety management system in KM. Dharma Kencana covers all elements of work including elements of planning and review as well as consultative arrangements and special programs. So that the safety management system must be systematic, applicable and comprehensive for the management of safety risks. Keywords: Role, (SMS), SOLAS 1974
