Abstract

Sea transport is crucial to the process of transporting goods for sea transport is considered more economical and have a large capacity in transportation. Issues to be discussed in this paper is the procedure for service of the vessel at PT. Pelabuhan Indonesia III (Persero) Branch of Tanjung Emas Semarang and the process of berthing or departure of the ship for the benefit of service users in the process of ships sailing in PT. Pelabuhan Indonesia III (Persero) Branch of Tanjung Emas Semarang. In this study the authors used data collection techniques with direct observation to object of research at Tanjung Emas Semarang, so that the data collected in accordance with the fact that this research was conducted. With the discussion of the petition of ships and goods, services if the ship wanted to move the sheet due to a shortage area berthing for ships seeking entry, service changes scheduled departure or arrival of the vessel as well as the cancellation or shortening of the schedule when the ship docked at the pier, the extension service of the vessel if the schedule previously determined insufficient time during unloading, knowing the process of berthing vessels as well as the departure of the ship. Also related to the procedures for handling and inspection process documents ships, as well as the issuance of permits to sail (SIB) for system work is necessary in order to improve the service of the vessel, thus it is necessary to understand and perform according to the rules that already exist, with good cooperation on agencies concerned will simplify and speed in the service of the vessel.
