Abstract

Navigating is a part of a sailing ship from one place to another. Knowledge of navigation tools is very important tool to assist an officer of the watch bridge in sailing ships. The method used is the method of interview and descriptive method that describingfile. Interest writer preparing a scientific paper is to ensure navigational equipment on board is in compliance with SOLASConvention1974, Fixing the navigation system in KM.INDAH COSTA to comply with SOLAS Convention 1974, and also to improve exercise ability officer of the watch in motion. The results or usefulness of this research is to become an input for the company to pay more attention to the condition of the navigation equipment on board, if damaged beyond repair, and if it can not be repaired immediately replaced, because if not fixed soon will interfere with the navigation process. If the company recruiting officers with expertise as well as have good and competent in their field and given familiarization when first boarded the ship.
