Abstract
Determination and type of survey for the appropriateness of a ship according to the type of vessel in the port of Tanjung Emas Semarang with the rules of the Indonesian Classification Bureau Indonesia is also called maritime country because Indonesia is the largest archipelagic country in the world with an area of approximately 3,273,810 km² or most of Indonesia is a water territory. Besides known as maritime country, Indonesia is also known as an archipelagic country with the largest number of islands and the largest in the world with the number of islands reach 17,508 islands. Indonesia has the potential of natural resources that are very beautiful in the sea, but behind the beauty and potential that exist in the sea, there are many problems in the world of shipping that occurred in Indonesia today because of the conditions and also the indentifitas of the flagged ships of Indonesia then the Bureau The Indonesian classification is always surveyed for the worthiness of a ship to sail for the sake of human safety and cargo that will sail and prevent pollution from the ship what if it happened an accident at sea and always maintain the sailing at sea.
