Abstract

As an archipelagic country that has many isolated and places islands it means more people needs the affects of the delivery of goods to certain areas as well as activities that accelerate loading and discharge in an area. One of the solutions to reach these areas is to use a vessel. The vessel itself is a water vehicle of a particular shape and type, which is driven by wind power, mechanical power and other energy, withdrawn or suspended, including dynamic powered vehicles, underwater vehicles, floating devices and floating vehicles. Cargo handling at the time of the ship to carry out loading and discharge process is the main factor of the smooth delivery of goods. In this study the authors chose a title of " The Efforts to smootly thecorn loading and discharge process on board of MV. Baruna Fortuna 1 owned by PT. Indo Vitex". Because the author wants to know how to smoothen the process of loading and discharge of corn on board of MV. Baruna Fortuna 1 owned by PT. Indo Vitex. The methode in data collection in this study is field research using observation and interview techniques and using literature study method. The result of this study is MV. Baruna Fortuna 1carried out loading and discharge activities according to safety procedures, so as to facilitate the smoothness of loading and discharge process. Keywords : Corn,MV. Baruna Fortuna 1.
