Abstract

ISM CODE ( INTERNASIONAL SAFETY MANAGEMENT CODE ) IMPLEMENTATION TO REDUCE ACCIDENT RATES AND EMPOWERMENT OF CREW IN SHIP OPERATION IN PT. ALFA TRANS RAYA Every country that has water territory must have sea transport that is Vesel. The vessel is a means of water transportation that can be used at sea and rivers, so the veselplays an important role for the economy of a nation in advancing the country. The existence of the veselcertainly never be separated from the risk of ship accidents that caused by several factors such as Human Error,vesel Equipment An understanding of safety procedures makes people aware of the use of safety equipment, work equipment maintenance, understanding work patterns, and working environment conditions. This refers to the provisions of the International Safety Management Code (ISM CODE) which regulates safety in vesel operations. The purpose of this Study is to know how the toof the role of International Safety Management Code (ISM CODE) in improving work discipline as an effort to minimize the risk of accidents on the vessel LCT. Alfa Trans Dua Owner by PT. Alfa Trans Raya. In this Study, the author uses observation and interview techniques and also uses the method of literature study. The results of this Study that the ISM CODE ( International Safety Management Code ) Implemtation to reduce accident rates and empowerment of ABK in PT.Alfa Trans Raya, is in accordance with the procedures required by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia, IMO and PT.
