Abstract
The Maritime transportation field is attached many accident caused by human factors (human error) or technical errors of transportation equipment. In the world of shipping, GMDSS equipment is a system that must be owned by commercial vessels. The function and role of the global maritime distress and safety system (GMDSS) in an emergency / disaster at sea is to improve safety or minimize casualties and facilitate rescue efforts for ships, in the event of an accident or emergency at sea. The implementation of the GMDSS practice is communication that contains the news about an emergency (example: the ship wants to sink).
