Abstract
Shipping is everything related to transportation in the waters, ports, and security and safety. Broadly speaking, shipping is divided into two, namely Niaga shipping (which is related to commercial activities) and Non-Commerce services (which are related to non-commercial activities, such as government and state defense). Safety and Safety are the main things in transportation, not only nationally, but also internationally. In this effort, in the maritime sector, the Government continued to improve the development of shipping navigation and sea transportation. Therefore to overcome so that the creation of a sense of security in sailing the Indonesian Government formed the Marine Inspector where the main task was to check the ship. The purpose of writing this paper is to find out the preparations made by the Marine Inspector in carrying out their duties, to determine the stages of the main duties of the Marine Inspector, to find out the safety tools examined by the Marine Inspector, to determine the obstacles facing the Marine Inspector when carrying out their duties. The method of data collection used by the author in this observation is in the form of field research methods which include observation, interviews, documentation techniques; and library study methods by conducting studies of books such as notes and reports that have to do with problems that have to do with the problems I want to convey in this paper. The results obtained from the author do is know that safety equipment in the appropriate standard is a very important thing from a shipping activity. Supervision and inspection of the completeness of safety equipment on board is the role of Marine Inspector. Keywords: Marine Inspector, Safety and Harbour Master.
