Abstract
the effect of damage to the exhaust gas valve on performance on main engine This final project is the result of research that writer do on MV. VICTORIA during the voyage using a diesel-powered 9840 KW diesel engine. The author has an idea to analyze the importance of the maintenance and operation of diesel generators. The author uses the method of observation and literature study in the writing of this thesis. The observation method is carried out while running the practice of sailing for 1 year on board and literature study is done by searching the theory of various references obtained both from the internet and books that support writing. Problems encountered in the operation of diesel generators, and damage to the construction of diesel generators. But this can be anticipated by understanding how to care and good operation. In this paper, the author tries to analyze and solve the above questions in the hope that the awareness of the parties related to ship and shipping machinery realizes the importance of maintenance and operation efforts on diesel generators in MV. Victoria 1.
