Abstract
The Country of Indonesia is one of the maritime countries which most of its territory is water and consists of islands. With the exixtence of sea transportation facilities the procces of connecting acces between islands is easier. Therefore is it very suibtable if in every port there is a shipping agent that an serve dea transportation. PT. Atosim Lampung Pelayaran is an agency that provid services related to ships at ports. One of them is arrival and departure operational proses. This operational proses needs specific documents and handling. The purpose of this study is to know the operational process of arrival and departure of ships owned by PT. Atosim Lampung Pelayaran at Tanjung Emas Port of Semarang. The data collection method used was literature study, observation and interview method. The result of this study is that the operational process starts before the ship arrives. It is called clearance in. it means processis the document starting from preparation of ship arrivad until the ship is berth. Then clearance out, it means that the processing of documents after the ship depart. Key words: process, operational, handling, arrivals, departures, ships.
