Abstract

The Navigation Class II Office of Semarang as a technical Executing Unit within the Directorate General of Sea Transportation in the framework of supporting shipping safety at the Port of Tanjung Emas, has an important role in the management of navigation by operating navigation navigation aids, one of which is Buoys. This research is intended to find out how to care for buoys in the Class II Navigation District of Semarang. Buoy installation is needed to expedite shipping activities, usually installed in certain waters, for example in narrow waters, crowded waters, entering harbor or river areas, shallow waters, dangerous waters such as shipwrecks, and border waters as markers of a country. The function of the buoy is as a sign of danger, as a guide or safe way for shipping. To facilitate such a vital function, Buoy maintenance and care is needed. Procurement, operation and maintenance in general are the responsibility of the Directorate General of Sea Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation. Based on the description above, the writer tries to examine more deeply so that the written work with the title "Responsibility and Authority of Class II Navigation Navigation Trick in Buoy Maintenance". With the method of data collection both observation, interview, and library research that the author collected, accurate discussion of the problem can be taken. This is intended to support the safety of shipping at the Port of Tanjung Emas. The conclusions obtained from the results of the study indicate that the importance of buoy maintenance to facilitate optimal function.
