Abstract
The development of the world at this time in terms of safety in water has begun to develop rapidly, but no one knows when accidents can occur. Hopefully with the BASARNAS Team (National SAR Agency) can provide help or assistance when disaster or accidents occur in water. The purpose of this study is to find out the importance of the role of BASARNAS as an effort to optimize the livelihoods and assistance of victims of accidents in water, which is supported by SAR equipment and to know how to care for SAR equipment so that it can be ready for use in emergencies. The method taken by the author from field research that has been carried out during his practice at the Office of the National SAR Agency (BASARNAS) Semarang, the writer conducted interviews with employees of the office of the National SAR Agency (BASARNAS) Semarang and also the literature study that the authors took from the book Search And Rescue (SAR ) as well as documentation taken directly. The results of this paper that the equipment and maintenance of livelihood equipment and rescue in the SAR Office Semarang is in accordance with the provisions of the government of the Republic of Indonesia.
