Abstract

PROVISIONS ON INDONESIAN CLASSIFICATION BUREAU IN DETERMINING SHIP FEASIBILITY IN ACCORDANCE WITH SOLAS Indonesia is also called a maritime country because Indonesia is the largest archipelagic country in the world with a sea area of approximately 3,273,810 km or most of Indonesia's territory is a territorial waters. Besides being known as a maritime country. procedures for the determination of classes by BKI for Indonesian-flagged vessels must be in accordance with SOLAS. ships classified by BKI must also be surveyed which must be in accordance with SOLAS. The writing of this paper aims to compare and practice between theories that have been obtained in lectures and in library studies, as well as document studies with the conditions carried out in land practice by PT. Indonesian Classification Bureau so that the hopes of the authors in the implementation of the land practice can add knowledge and insight for writers and readers and of course as a correction for PT. Indonesian Classification Bureau to be better in the future. from various methods of data collection the author uses qualitative methods in data collection. Qualitative data is data in the form of words, not in the form of numbers, qualitative data is obtained through a variety of data collection techniques such as interviews, document analysis, focused discussions, or observations that have been stated in field notes. based on observations and when going down to the field when land practice Indonesia Classification always surveyed whether or not a ship is worth sailing for the safety of humans and cargo that will sail and prevent pollution from ships what if an accident occurs at sea and always maintain sustainability at sea. Based on the data collected, the writer concludes the determination and type of survey for the suitability of a ship according to the type of ship with the BKI line.
