Abstract
In maritime countries like Indonesia, the role of shipping is very important for the socio-economic life of its inhabitants. Marine transport facilities play an important role in facilitating the transportation of goods, services and natural resources. To facilitate the means of sea transport depends not only on sophisticated navigation tools but direct supervision by officers and crew is still indispensable. Regular monitoring is still needed to minimize the constraints faced during the voyage. This paper is aimed at identifying aspects that play a role during monitoring and the role of navigation tools in the monitoring process during the implementation of the shipping scheme. This research method using descriptive by doing field research in KM. Fajar Bahari III and literature review. The result of this paper is that ships that are in compliance with IMO standards shall continue to monitor and maintain continuous vigilance by sight as well as by existing means, in connection with any significant changes in the operating environment and the full attention to the situations and risks of collisions , aggravation and other navigation hazards.
