Abstract

The Optimalization of Meteorological Observation to Support to Safety Navigation on Bad Weather on Board MT. Aek Kanopan 88 Meteorology is a science that studies the symptoms of events and processes that occur in the air layer that envelops the Earth. This air layer is called atmosphere. The atmosphere layer consists of troposphere, tropopause, stratosphere, and ionosphere which each one of them has certain height and temperature limits. Meteorology also studies about weather. Weather is a state of air at a particular moment and in a relatively narrow area and in a short period of time it also can be said that weather is the state of the daily air in a particular place and covers a narrow area, this weather situation can change every day. The purpose of this paper is to find out the optimization of meteorological observations to support the safety of navigating the waters of bad weather on vessels MT. Aek Kanopan 88. Data collection methods used were field research methods that use observation techniques and interviews. And the method of literature study. The results of the study that has been carried out optimally so that avoid bad weather is evident with the safety of ships and crews. Keyword : Meteorology, Bad Weather, Safety Navigation, MT.
