Abstract

Almost every country that has territorial waters certainly has sea transportation such as ships. Ships are the most widely used means of water transportation in the sea and rivers. The existence of a ship is certainly never separated by the risk of a ship accident. Many accidents are caused by several factors such as Human Error due to lack of understanding of work safety procedures. thus providing an understanding of the importance of work safety and providing training. make people aware of the use of work safety tools, maintenance of work equipment, understanding work patterns, and working environment conditions. This refers to the provisions of the International Safety Management Code (ISM CODE) which contains how the correct ISM CODE is applied for safety in the operation of the ship. The purpose of this paper is to find out how the influence of the implementation of the international safety management code (ISM CODE) on the safety of ship operations in KM. Tatamailau at PT. Pelni Persero. In this paper, the author uses observation and interview techniques and also uses the library method. The results of this paper show that the application of the international safety management code (ISM CODE) to the safety of ship operations in KM Tatamailau at PT.
