Abstract
Application of Training for the Use of Lifeboats to Improve Safety in Emergency Situations in KMP. Siginjai Survival technique or saving the human soul at sea is seafarers' practical knowledge concerning how to save themselves and other people in an emergency at sea, after experiencing collisions, fires, aground and so forth. In this process of salvation both helpers and those who are helped must know and understand how to use the various assistive devices on their ships, preparations and actions that must be taken before and after throwing themselves into the sea, actions during floating and surviving themselves into the sea, actions while floating and surviving at sea, actions when riding lifeboats / helper assemblies, and how to use the communication facilities that are in the lifeboats / rafters. All actions are intended so that everyone who is in danger / emergency can help himself and others quickly and precisely, both when plunging into the sea, at the time of survival and floating in the sea, at the time of helping others and when riding a lifeboat / raft helper before help comes. Although there is an obligation to provide assistance by ships, airplanes or other rescue units that have a Search an Rescue (SAR) facility, but in reality it is not always possible for the helper to find the ship or victims at the requested location, in connection with the sinking ship , his men have left the ship, the presence of strong winds or currents at that location and so on. The purpose of this paper is to find out how the Application of the Training of the Use of Lifeboats to Improve Safety in Emergencies in Kmp. Siginjai. The data collection method used is field research that uses observation techniques and interview techniques as well as documentation methods. The result of this paper is that the Application of Training for the Use of Lifeboats to Improve Safety in Emergencies in Kmp. Siginjai. has been carried out in accordance with existing procedures and rules. Keywords : Training, Life Boat, Safety, Danger / emergency conditions.
