Abstract
Traffic congestion is the situation or the faltering condition or even cessation of traffic caused by the number of vehicles exceeding the road capacity. If the traffic flow is near capacity, congestion begins. One of the problems of traffic on land transportation is quite complicated faced today is the low ability of road network infrastructure provision, while the level of vehicle flow is increasing. Such conditions result in traffic congestion on various streets. There are many factors that affect traffic congestion, such as: related to road capacity, traffic characteristics, environment and vehicles all of which greatly affect the occurrence of traffic congestion. In this research will be analyzed three variable of research that is side obstacle, traffic volume, and road condition as independent variable influencing dependent variable that is traffic jam. The formulation of the problem, the purpose of the research and the hypothesis in this research is to analyze the influence between independent variables, namely road condition, traffic volume, and side barriers to dependent variable that is traffic jam. In this study the object taken is the user Vehicle good motor, car, truck, and bus Around the iron bridge Garbage Semarang city. Data sources include primary and secondary data. The sample in this research is 100 respondents who are road users around the iron bridge Sampangan Semarang city. The sampling technique used is the sampling technique and the method of data analysis used is multiple linear regression technique using SPSS version 22.0. The result of multiple linear regression equation shows that there is partially positive effect between road condition to traffic congestion (t count 2,942> t table 1,984), traffic volume to traffic congestion (t count 2,990> t table 1,984) and side barriers traffic congestion (t arithmetic 4,485> t table 1,984). The influence of the three research variables is very strong with the correlation R Square = 0.496. Variations of traffic congestion are explained by traffic volume variables, parking characteristics and side barriers affecting 49.6% of traffic congestion and 50.4% influenced by undetectable or outside research variables in this study. Keywords: Traffic Congestion, Road Condition, Traffic Volume, Side Barriers
