Abstract
Main Tasks & Functions of the Shipping Meteorology Station, Ship Services for the Development of Renewable Equipment The Meteorology Station is one of the technical implementing groups under the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), which is a Non-Departmental Government Institution (LPND) engaged in services. One of the main tasks and functions is to observe meteorological elements and make weather forecasts, especially for shipping services. Weather forecast made is used for cruise information such as wave data, wind data, and other data related to shipping information. In the weather observation process, instruments are needed to be placed in a certain location to represent the environmental conditions of the surrounding area. Until now, many are still done manually where errors due to human factors (human errors) often occur, while if done automatically will facilitate human work, and avoid mistakes caused by human factors. One of the automatic weather observation instruments that is currently developing is the Automatic Weather Station (AWS). The purpose of this paper is to find out the main tasks & functions of the Meteorological Station, weather observations using renewable equipment, and multimedia-based weather information services for shipping needs. The method used in this paper is to use literature study, observation, and interviews. The results obtained from this study show that the Meteorology Station has a very important main & function task in the field of shipping, with the support of renewable weather observation equipment, so that it can produce fast and precise weather information. Keywords : Main Tasks & Functions, Services, Renewable Equipment.
