Abstract
ABSTRACT Ship planner is a very important thing in the activity of compiling containers on the boat in order to maintain the stability of the cargo on board. Along with the development of the industry, the flow of goods with containers (containers) will also increase rapidly so that a good container handling process is needed so that the container stacking field along with container handling equipment can be optimally utilized. In the preparation of containers on board the ship planner needs to carry out various procedures in order to maintain ship stability and safety in sailing. The ship planner itself involves several parties or agencies involved when planning and arranging containers on the ship. The activity of planning and compiling the container itself must have supporting documents that will facilitate the activity of arranging goods in containers on board including; Manifest, Shipping Instruction, Dangerous List, Reefer List, and Summary Manifest Container. Until now, there are still many problems being faced both from the availability of loading and unloading equipment, the field, and from shipping companies, meanwhile the ship planner must understand and improve the quality in order to achieve optimal results. The purpose of this paper is to find out the procedures carried out by PT. Samudera Indonesia Tbk Semarang branch in the preparation of containers on board, knowing the required documents and related agencies and the problems faced in preparing containers. The method used in this paper is to use library studies, observation and interviews. The results obtained from this study indicate that the ship planer must really know the procedure for composing containers on the ship, agencies or parties concerned know of container arrangement activities, and must prepare the complete documents. The things that the author gets to support the activities of planning, drafting, and shipping goods in containers at PT. Samudera Indonesia Tbk Semarang branch can meet the rules, be practical and accepted by agent users both domestically and abroad.
