Abstract
Indonesia is a country known as a maritime country whose territory is mostly waters and consists of islands. Therefore, the role of ships for Indonesia is very important as a trigger for economic development and connecting islands. The Indonesian economy can be affected by the smooth operation of ports. If during the loading and unloading process at the port is experiencing delays, this will result in time and cost losses. With the background of these problems, the authors chose the title of Scientific Writing "Efforts to Prevent Delay in the Process of Chloride Acid Discharge at the Surabaya AKR Port at MT Cipta Anyer" with the observation method, interview method, and library method. So that the unloading process on the ship runs smoothly, then efforts can be made to prevent the delay of the unloading process by familiarizing and handing over between the new crew and the old one in accordance with the actual situation. Before boarding the crew on board the company must also provide a brief education regarding loading and unloading procedures and selecting the crew. It is also expected for the Captain to always supervise in implementing discipline on the ship, besides that it also requires participation in the implementation and implementation of the ISM Code and STCW amendments in 2010.
