Abstract
The development of sea transportation is increasingly rapid along with the times. In the field of sea transportation, especially transportation of goods or cargo. One of them is using containers, many service users use containers in sending their goods because it is more efficient and not easily damaged, so that in terms of security is guaranteed. prioritizing quality of service to customer satisfaction in order to compete with other companies. To find out the problems that are often faced by service provider companies today is how the company attracts customers and maintains them so that the company survives and develops. Data collection methods used during conducting observations at PT. Wahyu Mandiri Semarang are qualitative methods, namely by conducting interviews, document analysis, focused discussions or observations while in the field. Factors that inhibit the process of loading and Discharging garment such as less attention and determination improper way or method of loading and Discharging due to the division of tasks of operational activities of the workers has not been carried out properly and maintenance of loading and Discharging equipment is less than optimal, so that loading and Discharging activities are hampered and take a long time, unskilled labor, natural conditions and buildup cargo at the port. then the need to prevent this should pay attention to factors that affect the speed of loading and Discharging of garments properly and implement the right method or method of loading and Discharging activities, so it is necessary to provide the skills, understanding and knowledge of workers in the implementation of these activities to divide the operational tasks of the activities to workers as well as adding adequate equipment and maintaining loading and Discharging equipment optimally, so that loading and Discharging can run smoothly, quickly and efficiently.
