Abstract

Indonesia is facing the problem of safety at sea. The problem occurs in various waters in Indonesia. Raise awareness, this is one of the problems is quite alarming in Indonesia so it needs high attention to raise awareness of the importance of the safety of sailors in sailing, especially during loading and unloading at the port or STS. Another step that needs to be done at this stage is the identification of safety issues, including reviewing the safety programs that have been and are being implemented. The number of accidents that occur each year are very high. Basically, the problem stems from the safety of the combined number of factors, human error, the ship was not seaworthy. Efforts are most effective for improving the safety of shipping, especially during loading and unloading should be done by providing knowledge early on. Alternative suggestions given in an effort to improve safety at the time of loading and unloading, based on the viewpoint of providing education about safety at the Academy Sailing / Seafarers Training Center. It is based on the premise that providing safety education through such institutions are still the most effective. The inclusion of road safety training courses for sailors, it is certain that the rate of accidents in the waters of Indonesia will be further reduced.
