Abstract

Intercooler diesel engine is a useful tool air conditioner to cool air coming from the turbo in the engine of the ship. Air is supplied to machine turbocharger is an air that comes from the round side on the turbo blower and had extremely hot temperatures. Therefore, the function intercooler diesel engine is one thing that is quite important. In addition to cool the air, intercooler also serves to condense the air in the engine so the engine has more power. The intercooler is usually located at the rear of the main engine which is a place where the discharge of exhaust through the exhaust gas manifold. At the time of entry by air driven turbo, then the air pressure is also increasing. In addition the temperature of the air that is pumped by a turbo also increased and will worsen if air is supplied engine is hot air. If it were to happen then the temperature will increase fuel chamber and overheating can occur and will make the air expands so that the air density is reduced. This can affect performance mainly due to the combustion engine power does not happen perfectly. To avoid this, the intercooler into a solution powerful enough. Intercooler works as a counterweight and release heat that works much like a radiator, but do not use a coolant / air radiator but by cooling the incoming air using sea water.
