Abstract
Definition of oily water saparator is a tool of the ship where the fluid which does not dissolve mutually separated from each other due to differences in specific gravity ( density ) . In this case the fluid in question is water and oil , which is where the density of water is greater than the density of oil , so that the separation process occurs when the water will be at the bottom and the oil will be at the top. Commencing from the date of 06 July 1998 on the disposal only do the cruise trip . Total oil content not exceeding 15 ppm . Monitor discharges of oil and oily water separator ( OWS ) should be operated .
