Abstract
Piping system optimization is to accelerate the transfer of liquid or gas in performance on board. Because of the large amount of liquid or gas in the ship, so the pipes are needed to support the performance of the crew. The pipes move the liquid or gas from a place that has high pressure to a lower pressure with the help of gravity and with the help of a pump to accelerate the transfer. At this writing focuses on the problems that in the pipe such as pipe maintenance, preventing damage to the pipe. The purpose of this paper is to determine the piping system, prevent damage to the piping system, to know the maintenance of the pipeline, another purpose is to find out the equipment used to support the pipe maintenance process and to know the machining parts that use piping. Data source is an important part in writing, while the data source used is primary data and secondary data. Data collection method is the most strategic method in writing, as for the data collection methods used, among others, observation method (observation), interview method (interviewing), library method. The results of this paper are able fo find out the problems that often occur in the piping system and can know how to maintenance. The conclusion at this writing is that the piping system often results in corrosion, clogging and leakage. To prevent corrosion of the pipe by installing the zinc anode on the sea chest. Painting with anti-corrosion paint, this painting is intended to provide a rust or corrosive coating on the pipe surface. Key word: Maintenance, Pipping System, Corrosion
