Abstract

SYSTEM OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF FRESH WATER GENERATOR ON KN.SAR SADEWA Fresh Water Generator is a freshwater aircraft aircraft by evaporating seawater in the evaporator and the water vapor is cooled by condensation in a Distillation / Condenser (condenser) plane, resulting in condensate water called condensate. (source: BP3IP, 2015). In the supply of fresh water on the boat there are often some obstacles due to the influence of the poor Fresh Water Generator component. For example, the unfavorable flow of freshwater and seawater in each pipeline, unbalanced freshwater and seawater temperatures before and after the passing of the Fresh Water Generator and the lack of vacuum in the evaporator chamber, the salt deposits in the plate evaporator at the Fresh Water installation Generator and others. So that with the damage to the parts of the Fresh Water Generator certainly affects the quality of fresh water produced. The purpose of this paper is to know and how to overcome why the absence of vacuum, low seawater pressure from ejector pumps, and salt deposits on the evaporator plate. Periodic maintenance results at KN.SAR SADEWA indicate that by performing periodic treatments for handling the downward flow of the Fresh Water Generator vacuum, the low seawater pressure of the ejector pump causes a decline in freshwater production, and the clearance of the evaporator plate at the Fresh Water Generator.
